Marcus Gover
Marcus Gover has been an international business and sustainability leader for over 30 years.
A scientist by background, he is a passionate believer in the need for cross sector collaboration to create total systems change; from policymaker and business leader actions, to inspiring and involving individuals.
Most recently he was Director of Minderoo Foundation’s Plastics Initiative, bringing together teams in Australia, Asia and Europe devoted to tackling plastic pollution and the impact it has on human health and the environment.
Before Minderoo, he was CEO of environmental NGO, WRAP, working to transform our broken product and food systems and reap the benefits of a regenerative circular economy.
Prior to WRAP, Marcus worked across environmental programmes in the UK and abroad for organisations including a start-up renewable energy company and an international technical services business.
After many years working at board level on sustainability, he now has portfolio of consulting, interim and non-executive roles. Non-executive and voluntary roles include being a Trustee of the UK Chartered Institution of Wastes Management, a supervisory board member of Circle Economy in the Netherlands, a non-executive director of US sustainability non-profit Delterra, a member of the Unilever Sustainability Advisory Council and a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Portsmouth, Revolution Plastics Institute.
Marcus has a degree and PhD in chemical engineering from Imperial College, London as well as an Executive MBA from Cranfield School of Management. He is a Fellow of the UK Institution of Chemical Engineers and a Fellow of the UK Chartered institution of Wastes Management.
